Project Overview
Perry & Associates was awarded a contract by Shaw E & I for the Naperville Tunnel Assessment at the BP Naperville 180 acre campus.
The intent of the assessment was to reinforce or eliminate concerns as to the structural integrity, non-compliance issues, and general physical conditions of the underground connecting tunnel system. The immediate concern was life/safety as it is presently being used as pedestrian walkways between buildings during inclement weather.
The focus of the assessment and recommendations for focused on the following concerns:
- Structural integrity
- HVAC systems compatibility
- Electrical systems including emergency operation
- Plumbing and drainage systems
- Architectural finishes
- Building Code/ADA compliance
